Part One ~ D + D

The First Look

First Looks are always so special. I love them. They are intimate and beautiful. No first look is ever like another. Witnessing the quiet moment between a couple right before they prepare to exchange vows. Some choose to exchange love notes in the privacy of their bridal/groom suites, some exchange text messages, some want a simple touch of a hand – a sweet encouragement before walking down the aisle. D & D made their ‘first look’ their own – a simple blindfold for the groom as they didn’t want to ‘spoil the moment’ if you will, when he sees her walking down the aisle for the first time. He heard her sweet giggle, just under her breath, and reached out with a gentle hand pulling her in close. I was far enough away that I couldn’t hear what they were saying. However, it was sweet and touching, and their love was so apparent for one another. I couldn’t stop smiling.

As they exchanged loving words, D’s daughter joined them with a sweet embrace of her mom and new dad. My heart melted at that very moment.

This union wasn’t just about two people, but three – a new family. Oh how he loves them both so dearly. I am so honored to be able to document this new journey.

They prayed together before parting ways….

Words cannot explain how I felt watching the two of them hold one another so lovingly and gently, observing their tender embrace, their giggles and smiles…

Their love story was unfolding.

Love is a beautiful thing.
